Sous Chefs

Sous Chefs, also known as 2nd Chefs, assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management. The role usually includes staff management, food preparation and delivery, menu planning, purchasing, stocktaking, budget control, staff development, staff training, managing health and hygiene and implementing standard procedures such as HACCP within the kitchen. A good sous chef will usually have a good level of experience and expertise as a Chef before moving up to this role.
