Individual
Giant Slalom (1100 onwards)
The day starts with the chance to race against the clock and experience
the incredible adrenalin buzz that you can get from racing.
We have a maximum of 150 spots to race on the same GS course that
Alain Baxter will be competing on in March, so don't
wait to the last minute to enter. Competitors from other resorts will be allocated late starting spots if requested.
Team Parallel Slalom (1330 onwards)
The afternoon will see the exciting Team Parallel Slalom. You
need to summon up a team of five, including at least one member
of the opposite sex. Then it's head to head against the opposition,
first team to finish wins.
Each team will get at least two races.
Fancy dress is optional - but impress the judges and you will win prizes.
Race Categories
We will we awarding prizes for
the top three male and female skiers and boarders in each category in the GS, and for the best Ski and Board teams in the Parallel Slalom.
1. Workers (non-instructors) - To race in this category
you must be spending the entire winter in the Alps, either working (or bumming) a season, and not
be an 'instructor'
2. Instructors - Anyone with any nationally recognised instructor
qualification (eg BASI, CSIA, NZSIA) or currently receiving instructor
race training must compete in this category.
3. Novices - This category is for anyone who has not been
on snow before the start of this winter season
4. Guests - To enter this category, you must be a bona-fide
holidaymaker anywhere in the Alps, not working a season, nor on
an extended holiday (ie ski bum)
Over €4000 of prizes
Whether you've raced before or are a first-timer, this experience
is a must just for the fun of it. To cap it off, we have a prize fund
worth over €4000, including Respect The Mountain goody bags,
skis (Freeride.fr & Rossignol), snowboards (Rossignol), clothing (Rossignol, Natives), helmets (SH+), eyewear (Bolle), DVDs (Verbier Ride) and goodies from The Ski Club of Great Britain.
Entry - Don't leave it to the last minute!
The Individual GS costs €10 in advance, including
two free drinks and a free item from the BBQ, run by Jacks Bar. The Parallel Slalom costs €50 per team in advance, again
