RECURRING NIGHT-MAYOR

5 February 2000

Following our previous report on the dictatorial nature of Meribel's no.1 citizen, Natives learns of more policies to make the life of British holidaymakers and workers as difficult as possible.

'Version Originale' films are rare enough during a winter season, but even more so, when they are restricted.  The quota exists to avoid any sudden arrival on the streets of anything resembling a crowd who could make some noise.

The reasons for this have been alluded to already in previous reports.  Efforts to keep 'Le Pub' goers in line after closing time now extend to posting police, equipped with dog.

Despite the fact that the animal in question is only a puppy, eye witness reports confirm the intimidating atmosphere that now exists.

Speculation mounts as to the next 'controle'.  Is the ultimate goal to rid Meribel of the British altogether?
