INSTRUCTOR COURSES DOWN UNDER

19 April 2005

Peak LeadersThinking about heading 'Down Under' for the UK summer? If you've ever considered a career as a ski or snowboard instructor, then Peak Leaders' programmes in the clear blue skies of the New Zealand Alps or the Andes of South America might be of interest…

Instructor courses in New Zealand and Argentina

This will be Peak Leaders sixth year offering instructor courses in the Southern Hemisphere, but this year there are two main differences from previous years.

Firstly, they have teamed up with NZSKI (the biggest NZ resort operator) to make sure that their programmes are delivered with all the available local expertise. Secondly, after several years of training they understand that the full package is often too much commitment for some would-be instructors. That's why this year they have put together two different courses for students to choose from.

- The 'Max Pack' (22 Jul - 16 Sep 05) - A FEW PLACES LEFT
Based near Queenstown, this programme has been designed for those who want an inclusive, comprehensive package and includes flight from London, hotel accom, most meals and season pass. Most importantly, you'll get 5 days training per week for 7 weeks working for the new NZSIA Snowsports Instructor Certificate and NZSIA Stage 1 (Ski or Snowboard). There is also the optional add on of a chill week in Fiji. Check this link for details

- The 'No Frills' pack (Course starts 25 Jul 05) - NOW SOLD OUT
Based in Queenstown, for this course, you organise your own flights and meals with budget accommodation provided. Training is 3 days a week still for 7 weeks, also working for the new NZSIA Snowsports Instructor Certificate and NZSIA Stage 1 (Ski or Snowboard). Participants need to be good intermediate skiers or riders, or better. For details check their website

Or why not head to Argentina? A FEW PLACES LEFT
Argentina is a proven favourite with those seeking summer snow in South America. Based in Bariloche in the Andes, with a module in Chile, this course runs for 8 weeks. Accommodation is a stunning, lakeside lodge with flight, accommodation, most meals, Spanish language training plus trip to Buenos Aires, all included. You'll train for internationally recognised ski or snowboard certification.
Programme dates 02 Aug - 27 Sep 05. Again for info, check their site

STOP PRESS - Peter Kuwall, CEO of BASI has confirmed a new initiative to run BASI courses in conjunction with Peak Leaders in Argentina. Together with the Andes Mountains Club Bariloche, they will team up with BASI trainers to provide training and accreditation for the ski and snowboard instructor courses in Argentina.
