SKIING ON 4 Skiing on 4 this weekend again turns its focus
on the Men’s World Cup tour, and the battles at the top of the rankings.
It’s getting closer and closer to the World Cup Finals, and every
point won or lost is becoming increasingly important. This week
the action comes from Kranjska Gora with a Giant Slalom and Slalom.

Sunday concentrates mainly on Saturdays Giant Slalom, this is crucial
for a lot of the competitors – including Bode Miller and Championship
leader Kalle Palander of Finland. Bode won here last year but Kalle
will be looking to establish his authority. We also take a look
forward to the Slalom, where Alain Baxter needs a strong finish
to secure his place at the World Cup Finals in Sestrieres.

Wednesday nights show looks at how Zoe Gillings fared in her first
Boardercross competition since injuring her shoulder in Arosa. She
has looked outstanding for much of the season and this was set to
be a big test. The action comes from Berchesgaden in Germany. We
also take a look at the Parallel Giant Slalom from Berchesgaden.
In Aerials Australia’s Alisa Camplin and Canada’s Steve Omischl
lead the men’s and women’s events, and we head of to Deer Valley,
Salt Lake City to see how they got on in their latest encounters.
There is also Moguls action as Kari Traa and Jennifer Heil continue
their season long battle for supremacy.

Thursday sees us travel to Drammen in Norway for a Cross Country
Sprint. We also check on Ronny Ackermann’s battle with the up-and-coming
Fin, Hannu Manninen. Ackermann though is an extremely dedicated
athlete; he reputedly abstained from sex for 389 days prior to the
Olympic Games, where he picked up a silver medal.
