SHOWING LOVE IN ZERMATT

21 February 2004

The Show Love Tour went off in Zermatt with the finesse we've come to expect from the North Wall Bar crew. Thanks to Sparky, Chris and Pocket for hosting us.

Merry Fasnacht
This year our party was timed to coincide with 'Fasnacht' - to be honest I'm still not much the wiser as to what exactly Fasnacht is, I think it's a bit like Shrove Tuesday, except on a Thursday and with less shroves. Anyway the gist of it is that all the bars have an all night licence and everyone wears fancy dress and gets drunk - perfect Natives territory.

The band with no name, complete with new singer, had the North Wall jumping as ever. And I know I say it every time - but the costumes really were the best I've ever seen. Special mention must got to Hugh Heffner and his bunny girls; the tin man; the cheesegrater; The Dam Busters and their fine aircraft; and numerous Hooters girls, all of whom were infinitely preferable to the ropey selection of octogenarian mentalists one finds in the Hooters in Interlaken.

Merry Fasnacht one and all.
