The opening weekends have now been & gone
and another season is in full flow...
Current Snow
Conditions
It started snowing at 17:52 yesterday
afternoon and now 2 to 3 inches cover the resort with more higher
up. More and more of the ski area is opening up and the blue run
down from the La Tania gondola station is now complete although
more snow is need on the red runs above. Still snowing lightly now
and the weather remains unsettled with snow showers forecast for
the rest of the day.

opening day |
Courchevel 1850 has
the Saulire, Creux Bowl, Suisses and Chenus areas now open. Expect
Biollay/Pralong to open soon. On the Meribel side of Saulire there
are only a few of the higher pistes open down to the mid-station
and over in 1650 the runs down from the Signal chairlift are now
open. Snow is generally soft and forgiving with lots of machine
made snow about and the pistes are well groomed and still relevantly
quiet - All in all, good skiing & boarding is available.
Opening Day at 1850
A fairly poor turn out from the La Tania locals - mainly due to
rumours of nothing being open. Those who did venture out were rewarded
with some good (if limited) skiing on great weather. Natives rider
Pat Sharples showed that the off piste skiing was great - but somehow
everyone else found it rocky, sticky, crusty, heavy and any other
nasty expressions you can think of. It must be his factory skis...
Opening
Nights
All a bit of a blur. Lodge du Village served Champagne and nibbles
- very nice thank you. Great set of staff there from all over the
world and the Ski Lodge crew look to emulate the bad behaviour of
previous season employees.
Locals Survey 2003/4
This year made up of (so far):
23 Girls - 7 skiers, 9 boarders, 5 both and 2 who don't know yet
39 Boys - 12 skiers,18 boarders, 5 both, 2 tele, 1 blader and 1
Mono (Ski Lodge boss Tim Wall)
Of the girls - 17 Shave rather than wax, 13 would
have sex on a first date and the average girl in La Tania this season
has had 12.4 sexual partners. We must remember to do this questionnaire
at the end of the season again!
Of the boys - Next is the most popular underwear,
it's a 50/50 split on preferring older or younger women and 66%
would prefer to be Jonny than David (all the Aussies abstained from
that one).

Only 5 months to go,
we can sleep in May,
