DROPSTITCH IN TIME

10 December 2003

In NZAfter Lesley McKenna’s superb SECOND World Cup victory last week (putting the recent achievements of some our skiers, admirable as they are, into perspective) interest is building in the new all-girl snowboarding movie coming out next year.

McKenna is the mastermind behind DropStitch, the first feature length international snowboard film showcasing the world's best female snowboarders, which has been filming in NZ this summer.

Filmed over a year in Iceland, NZ, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, The United States, and the European Alps, DropStitch is documenting the lifestyle of professional snowboarders being pushed to their limits.

Iceland

IcelandDropStitch shows girls who have taken a male dominated sport and made it their own against all the odds. Snowboarding is the path they have taken to help them fulfil their aspirations and live their lives in an independent and unconventional way – pretty much how modern women look at life in general today.

It's about bringing talent, inspiration and devotion to the public, introducing snowboarding to girls who have never tried, and inspiring those who have, to follow their dream.

Watch out for more on this movie as we near the premiere in September 2004.
