For the third year running, Christie's will host a fundraising auction in aid of the British Ski & Snowboard Team athletes on 24 February 2004.

This is a great fundraiser for the Snowsports GB team and we encourage you to do all you can to support it. Proceeds from the last two years have made a real difference and has helped the team to their considerable successes the last 3 years.

Auction items this year include a week in the Maldives, a 3 day break at Gleneagles Resort including sporting activities, a week in Whistler for six in a luxury chalet, a shopping spree at Snow & Rock, His & Hers head-to-toe collection from Rossignol, and many more. The Ski Club of Great Britain have agreed to organise the official raffle, amazing prizes are guaranteed.

Celebrities
The evening includes a private viewing of Christie's famous ski poster sale, previous Ski Sale auctions have attracted the support of celebrities, Billy Zane, Christopher Lee, Britt Ekland and many more.

Athletes
Britain's top athletes, Lesley McKenna, Alain "The Highlander" Baxter and Chemmy Alcott are all capable of delivering podium results and a very real chance of a medal in Turin 2006.

After stunning performances from Alain Baxter & Lesley McKenna in the BBC Superstars programme, people are starting to understand just how fit and dedicated all our snowsport athletes are.

Inspiration
According to Konrad Bartelski, a veteran of three Winter Olympics, and Chairman of Snowsport GB`s Selection Committee, the Christie's event provides more than much-needed extra funding: "It's a massive psychological boost for an athlete to know that people actually care about their success. It's easy, when you're stuck in the mountains, to feel like nobody knows what you're doing."

If you would like to attend the Christie's fundraising auction at 6.30pm at Christie's South Kensington auction rooms. A donation of £30 per person is required to attend the Champagne reception. You can meet Alain Baxter and our other Snowsport athletes in person.

The auction in organized on a voluntary basis by a group of passionate ski racers and journalists, including Konrad Bartelski, Graham Bell, Jennifer Greenbury, Adam Sullivan, Simon Kelton and Murray Hudson.
