The inaugural Snowsport GB 5-a-side tournament was a great success last night.

Team spirit
Although somehow Natives, sponsored by Maxim, did not win the tournament. Team Celeb, with star player Ralph Little, did and walked off with some great prizes.

Special mentions should go to the Ski Club of Great Britain, whose pink ladies were the finest fans, and whose only win came against Natives (fielding a weakened 4 man team!). Skilled left-footer Ben Letham varied spells in the sin bin with dizzying left foot skills, while burly midfielder Phil Purdie played on despite a dislocated shoulder.

The Ski Club were also the only team to field ladies in their team with Fiona Attryde and Betony Garner showing the lads how to tackle properly.

Racer Ready performed impressively to reach the final, defeating Mark Warner in the semis, although they would readily admit that their equaliser against Natives by Paul Telling was a once in a lifetime piece of outrageous luck!

Congratulations to Adam Sullivan for putting the comp together and to Alain Baxter, who schlepped it down from the Shetland Islands just to show his support for his old racing buddy.
