YOUNG RIDERS SHINE IN NZ COMP

21 September 2003

The Casio G-Shock Grommets Competition saw over 30 young snowboarders from throughout New Zealand compete in the halfpipe, slalom and boarder-x last weekend. The field ranged from riders as young as seven just starting their competitive career to national junior team members Ellie Richards (15) and Kendall Brown (13).

The day kicked off in the International Halfpipe. Despite the pipe walls being nearly three times the height of many of the competitors they remained undaunted, showing competitive spirit that puts them in good stead as New Zealand's future for snowboarding.
