| NEW FREERIDE MAG LAUNCHES |
12 September 2003 |
| News has just hit the Natives Inbox of a welcome new entrant to the UK's collection of wintersports magazines.
Together with the rest of their team, Dark Summer plan to support the UK freeskiing market 'by establishing a sense of community and celebrating the culture, music, style and fashion that make up the freeskiing lifestyle'. Zack told Natives that it was the lack of a specialist magazine dedicated to UK freeskiing community (not the case in Europe and the States) that inspired him to start the Mag. "The freeride movement is the heartbeat of skiing's renaissance and over the past few seasons a whole new community - blending young and old, new skool and big mountain - has been spawned," Zack told Natives. "Skiing has re emerged from the shadow of snowboarding prouder than ever." Watch out for Issue 1 of Dark Summer in October

'Dark
Summer' is the brainchild of Zack Wragg (declaration: Zack is a
Natives-sponsored rider and damn fine chap) and Dan Crawford. Zack
is a 'veteran' at 25 of the UK's burgeoning freestyle circuit, while
Dan was last seen as Art Director at Fall Line Magazine, so both
are well qualified to bring the freestyle scene to print.
