PERISHER GOES BLUE FOR CHARITY

22 June 2003

On Friday Perisher Blue Ski Resort turned even more blue in support of ALS/MND Global Awareness Day with crazy hair-do's, themed clothing, snow sculptures and celebrations!

Blue blue blue
The resort was themed in the colour blue, staff wore blue clothing, and they even had a go at dying their hair blue.

ALS/MND is Amiotrophic Lateral Schlerosis or better known as Motor Neurone Disease. The symbol of Motor Neurone Disease is the BLUE Cornflower - a flower that blooms in the most adverse circumstances making it the ideal emblem for the disease and a blue snow sculpture of a Cornflower was the centrepiece of the day

MND is actually the name of a group of diseases. It affects everyone differently but in Motor Neurone Disease, the nerve cells (neurones) controlling the which gradually weaken.

Everyone can help
Good luck to Perisher Blue who made the effort to get behind this serious cause and help the Motor Neurone Disease Association find a cure, and help where you can.
