Pimps n Ho's
Carnage is the word that best describes the Pimps and Ho's night
at El Ponchos on Saturday 25th Jan. Sophie and Anna, previously
from ski world were by far the best looking hoes that rocked up
in their stilettos, fish nets and batty riders, aka hot pants or
not much material. Mel from Board Brains could be seen in amongst
the hustle and bustle as well as keeping tabs on the girls, dressed
in a Madonna Music / 70s Pimp style hat.
Refinement with a handbag...
Very elegant and keeping the punters happy as usual was Andy from
the Rond Point in a slinky purple number. Perhaps the most unrecognisable
person with full grown afro, designer beard and happiest smile was
Chris from ski world. Board Brains Jonno and Dj Nick also had big
smiles and every reason too since the whole place was rocking to
their funky tunes.
Carnage everywhere
I keep hearing people say 'it was carnage last night!' or 'it's
carnage in there mate', so I guess it means we're all a bunch of
party animals that work and play hard. It won't be long then I think
before carnage becomes synonymous with ski resort workers like surf
dudes are constantly stoked. Soon it will be carnage on the slopes
with gangs of season workers ripping it up on the mountain. In fact
it already is.
Snow snow snow snow snow
Powder is everywhere and absolutely spanking fantastic stuff! It
really is the best snow Meribel or even the Alps have had in years
so do believe the hype. This is the reason why we are here at the
end of the day and it feels sooooo good. It's still only just half
way through the season with another three months to go and we've
just had a big dumping of the stuff. Get ready for the hour long
que's though now that the French and English holidays have begun.
Meribel is so beautiful when there's snow everywhere. Even better when you find a quiet spot with tons of fluffy white stuff that seems to go on forever. It can be so peaceful when just sitting on a chairlift, sensing a still silence and admiring the view. I'm becoming a lover of trees too but I'm not hugging them yet, not intentionally anyway just admiring them from afar.
It's a small natives world
It's not just the endless winters we all love. I've got more proof
that season workers really are all like minded people. We think
the same things and we do the same stuff. For example, when I arrived
in Meribel at the beginning of December, I discovered that Phil
whom I met on the way to the Sahara desert in Morocco was working
here at Freeride. Coincidences are great aren't they?
The same thing happened just the other day. Talking to Cybar Charlie,
we found out we were on the same mountain at the same time in Morocco
too. Not only that but he had met Sarah from the Ronny on the way
up to the top of that mountain. The next thing I know we all ended
up in Essaouira by the coast doing the same thing at the same time
in the same country. We're all just crazy kids who love snow, sun,
sea, sand and carnage.
