Welcome to the first report of 2002. The new year kicked off with a bang with what seemed like the entire population of Switzerland cramming itself into the church square. Plenty of champagne sprayed and fireworks thrown kept the event interesting while hapless males (Phil) tried to take advantage of the proceedings by kissing every girl they (he) came across. Proceedings continued well into the night with most seasonaires spending their time between the North Wall, Murphy's and The Pipe (I'm a little hazy as to what happened there exactly). Meanwhile, things are, thankfully, begining to quieten on the mountain. With the school holidays over we now have room to move. Riding is still restricted to pistes only as we haven't seen any snow for a week. Awesome sunny weather has made up a little for it but some powder would be more than welcome. Local forecasters reckon it may not snow until the middle of January. Finally, thanks to everyone who poured the most obnoxious drinks they could think of down my throat on my birthday (2nd Jan). Anyone in town should definately go the the North Wall and ask Rocket for one of his 'Headshakers', cheers mate!
