The sun is out and spring skiing has arrived for this coming weekend at least. With overnight temperatures around -1.5 degrees the snow is setting up well and then softening mid-morning. Providing very smooth conditions over the entire mountain.

Off piste the freeze / thaw situation is making for excellent smooth open slopes. Arcadia is softening quickly and the best skiing is first thing in that area. Still plenty of snow with 95% coverage off piste, 100% of trails open and being groomed daily with an average base of between 45-135cm.

Pipe & Park News: All 4 pipes operating on rotation with the Johnny Superpipe reopening today after a complete rebuild for the Vodafone Junior Worlds. Park is opening daily weather and visibility permitting and riding well top to bottom. The Gravity cross course is absolutely huge as it nears full size for the world juniors. The Kid's Park on Skyline is in great shape - Adults please duck when using the tunnel run.

Looking ahead to the Vodafone Snowboard Nations Junior world championships next week. Some of the best riders in the world will be competing in Snowboardercross, Parallel GS and Halfpipe from Tuesday - Thursday next week. Check it all out at http://www.worldjuniors.co.nz
