BUSC 2003 LAUNCH PARTY

26 June 2002

Midsummer's Night might seem a strange time to launch a ski programme, but it must mean the nights are drawing in and the snow is on its way!

in da mixThat was the thinking as BUSC, the British Unis Snowsports Council, launched its range of events for next season last weekend, and at the same time confirmed Natives sponsorship of BUSC for the 4th consecutive year.

Kicking off at a party in Edinburgh's Counting House, the new team, Dan Craig, Matt Helme, Gav Carruthers and John Birnie presented the fruits of their labours, plus some free beer to wash it down, to a range of ski club captains, industry figures and various liggers.

free beerThe events line up includes:

- The Summer Session which kicks off next week on the 2 Alpes glacier and is well and truly sold out
- The biggest dryslope event in Europe - BUDS - hosted at Midlothian Ski Centre, Hillend, on 9/10 Nov
- A fantastic midwinter holiday to Tignes

Natives will be reporting on and active at all of these events, working closely with BUSC on their Internet and SMS channels.

Dan Craig, Chairman for 2003, told Natives, 'I am delighted that Natives and BUSC are continuing our existing successful relationship and look forward to working together over the next year'

Craig is bullish about the coming year: "We've got the most innovative and fresh line up of events student snowsports has ever seen and we're all looking forward to making sure that the BUSC community has a fantastic year. BUSC is now in a strong position to develop and we hope to make a real difference to this process. We'd like to thank everyone who's supported us so far to make this what it is."

The first BUSC event is the summer session - look out for a full report from the camp in three weeks' time.
