THE VERBIER CHALLENGE CUP
16 February 2001

April 12 sees the 12th running of the Annual Verbier Challenge Cup - a chance for people of all standards and ages to take part in a racing event.

Organised by the Ski Club of Great Britain, last year's race - a Super G - attracted 150 racers, who entered under a large number of categories including Resort Workers, Locals, Telemark, Snowboard and Over 50's. The Grahame Berry Trophy, which goes to the fastest Ski Club member was claimed by Tyrone Winyard.

From the impeccable fava race organisation arranged by the Ecole Suisse de Ski de Verbier to prize-giving at the Pub Monfort it promises to be a fun day out.

Racing is on the Stade du Savoleyres (1100 start), with registration at the Hotel de Verbier from 1830-1930 from March 31 onwards. Entry is 25Sfr for adults, 20Sfr for Ski Club members and 20Sfr for children (u13). The resort worker price is just 15Sfr
