MAIER WINS THE BIG ONE!

21 January 2001

Hermann Maier showed his dominance of the World Cup Downhill circuit again yesterday when he won the race they all want to win.

The legendary Kitzbühel Hahnenkamm has been one of the few downhills that Maier had until yesterday failed to win, but confidently won his third downhill triumph of the season.

Maier has now won a record 36 World Cup wins and will be aiming to add victory in the up and coming World Championships in St Anton.

All eyes in Kitzbuhel now turn to the Ganslern piste where Alain Baxter will be continuing his terrific progress and be looking to secure a third consecutive top ten placing.

Final Downhill Placings:
1. Hermann Maier (Austria)
2. Hannes Trinkl (Austria)

3- Daron Rahlves (U.S.)
