OZ UPDATE: FROM GRAEME MARSH

9 July 2001

Everywhere you go..always take the weather......

Snow hit us good and proper this weekend, some consolation for watching the Lions fold !! The new cover has been wet and has varied between snow, sleet and rain although already it is opening up terrain throughout Perisher.

Today saw Guthega finaly opening up giving us skiing al round the resort. Winter weather has made for some tough conditions with visibility low and the damp soaking us through !!

New lifts are opening daily and there is more snow likely, different sources are claiming different amounts fell but we had at least 25cms over the weekend maybe a bit more and it's still going !!!

Town is getting busier with more and more workers arriving, beds are still an issue !!!

Nightlife wise Friday was a Perisher Ski school party up at Banjo's, Wednesday means payday and the tunes are sure to be pumping at LJ's again as we all kick back for a midweek night out.

Currently the resort is busy with the NSW holidays deluging us with all types of skiers some of who weren't faring too well in the poor visibility and heavy snow !!!

Anyway that's about it for now, forecast calls for more of the same this week!! I'm missing the sun already !!!

Take care all

Graeme Marsh
